Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lightning Bottle Rockets With Cigarettes by Grear Patterson was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Grear Patterson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pants On Fire in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,383.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lightning Bottle Rockets With Cigarettes von Grear Patterson kam im Oktober 2016 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.355,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grear Patterson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pants On Fire im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.383,48).
