In April last year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Thought Pattern by Godwin Champs Namuyimba. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,050.11), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Godwin Champs Namuyimba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Connector in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,323,000.00 (€ 147,104.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thought Pattern von Godwin Champs Namuyimba zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 30.050,11) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Godwin Champs Namuyimba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Connector im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.323.000,00 (€ 147.104,19).
