Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jamestown Masquerade II & III (a pair) both signed, dated, and titled 'G. Donkor 2006' (along lower margin); artist's proof by Godfried Donkor was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,520.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Godfried Donkor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ghan aianbrowning Madonna in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11).
