In October last year Christies in London held the auction A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection, which included the work Jamestown Masquerade XII by Godfried Donkor. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,697.24), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Godfried Donkor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghan aianbrowning Madonna , which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jamestown Masquerade XII von Godfried Donkor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.697,24) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Godfried Donkor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghan aianbrowning Madonna beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.572,11) versteigert wurde.
