The work Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens by Godfried Donkor was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art Online auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,516.82) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Godfried Donkor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghan aianbrowning Madonna , which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11).

Die Arbeit Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens von Godfried Donkor wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art Online bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.516,82) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Godfried Donkor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghan aianbrowning Madonna beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.572,11) versteigert wurde.
