Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings - Evening Sale, which included the work Fish, shells and coral on a rocky shore by Giuseppe Recco. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 157,250.00 (€ 180,467.90). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giuseppe Recco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 282,000.00 (€ 412,884.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings - Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fish, shells and coral on a rocky shore von Giuseppe Recco zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 157.250,00 (€ 180.467,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Recco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain beobachtet, die im April 2007 für GBP 282.000,00 (€ 412.884,33) versteigert wurde.
