Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Still Life Of A Red Gurnard And Shell On A Stone Ledge, Before An Upturned Copper Pot And Platter by Giuseppe Recco. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,825.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Recco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 282,000.00 (€ 412,884.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life Of A Red Gurnard And Shell On A Stone Ledge, Before An Upturned Copper Pot And Platter von Giuseppe Recco zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.825,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Recco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 282.000,00 (€ 412.884,33).
