The result of EUR 11,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 11,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Recco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 282,000.00 (€ 412,884.33).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Composition with lobster, squid and fish von Giuseppe Recco kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Il Ponte zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 11.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 11.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Recco erzielen.
