Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Putti Playing With Vines And A Cornucopia, A Sphinx Above An Arch To The Right by Giulio Pippi was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,080.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giulio Pippi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a woman, head and shoulders in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 444,052.63).
