Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Recto: Venus and Vulcan, Cupid and putti Verso: Madonna and Child and St. Elizabeth with St. John the Baptist by Giulio Pippi was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 120,373.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giulio Pippi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a woman, head and shoulders, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 378,000.00 (€ 444,052.63).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 120.373,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Giulio Pippi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a woman, head and shoulders beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 378.000,00 (€ 444.052,63) versteigert wurde.
