In January 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Head Of An Elderly Woman Wearing A Wimple by Francesco Mazzola. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,005.01), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Mazzola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).

Im Januar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head Of An Elderly Woman Wearing A Wimple von Francesco Mazzola zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 23.005,01) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Mazzola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.159.395,17).
