Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Augustus And The Sibyl by Francesco Mazzola was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,053.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Mazzola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Augustus And The Sibyl von Francesco Mazzola kam im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.053,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Mazzola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.159.395,17).
