Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Works on Paper: Prints and Drawings for under £5,000, which included the work The Entombment by Francesco Mazzola. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,949.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Mazzola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Works on Paper: Prints and Drawings for under £5,000 durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Entombment von Francesco Mazzola zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.949,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Mazzola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.159.395,17).
