Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francesco Mazzola achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Saints Peter and John healing the Cripples at the Gate at the Temple sold for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,004.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Mazzola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
