Admittedly, works by Francesco Mazzola have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 216.412,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Mazzola auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.159.395,17).
