Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giovanni Ghisolfi could be acquired at Il Ponte in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Furnishings and Old Master Paintings - Art Objects and Musical Instruments auction, the work Rovine romane con figure changed hands for EUR 12,000.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 14,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Ghisolfi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 130,571.69).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Ghisolfi erzielen.
