Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Part I And Part II, which included the work Artemisia Toasting The Statue of Her Dead Husband Mausolus With Wine Mixed With His Ashes by Giovanni Ghisolfi. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,766.70). Admittedly, works by Giovanni Ghisolfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 130,571.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Part I And Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Artemisia Toasting The Statue of Her Dead Husband Mausolus With Wine Mixed With His Ashes von Giovanni Ghisolfi zur Versteigerung kam.
