Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giovanni Ghisolfi could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work Alexander The Great And Thalestris changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,984.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Ghisolfi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 130,571.69).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.750,00 (€ 130.571,69).
