In October 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work A capriccio of classical ruins with figures resting by the columns and others conversing, houses on the sea shore beyond by Giovanni Ghisolfi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,729.88), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Ghisolfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 130,571.69).

Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A capriccio of classical ruins with figures resting by the columns and others conversing, houses on the sea shore beyond von Giovanni Ghisolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.729,88) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Ghisolfi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with bandits amongst classical ruins; and A capriccio of a Mediterranean port with a ruined temple and a statue of Hercules, with Orientals and other figures, an encampment beyond im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.750,00 (€ 130.571,69).
