This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David And Goliath in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 409,250.00 (€ 474,728.77).
