Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Good Samaritan by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,557.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David And Goliath in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 409,250.00 (€ 474,728.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Good Samaritan von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.557,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit David And Goliath im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 409.250,00 (€ 474.728,77).
