Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work News from the Front by Gilbert Gaul. The price achieved of USD 39,400.00 (€ 26,824.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gilbert Gaul have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Song Of Victory in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 118,441.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit News from the Front von Gilbert Gaul zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 39.400,00 (€ 26.824,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilbert Gaul auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Song Of Victory im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 118.441,26).
