Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Venezia, Sottoportego della Malvasia, circa 1958 by Gianni Berengo Gardin was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,738.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gianni Berengo Gardin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vaporetto, 1960, which sold at auction in June 2012 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 29,408.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Venezia, Sottoportego della Malvasia, circa 1958 von Gianni Berengo Gardin im Juni 2012 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.738,99) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gianni Berengo Gardin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vaporetto, 1960 beobachtet, die im Juni 2012 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 29.408,15) versteigert wurde.
