Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Custom Painted New York Subway Sign by Ghost was sold in the New York New York auction at Phillips in New York in 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 625.00 (€ 546.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ghost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Everyone Has There Own Arrow - 2016 in April 2018 with an auction result of EUR 10,400.00.
