Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Billet Armchair, Circa 1926-1927 by Gerrit Rietveld was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2017. The result of EUR 60,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerrit Rietveld - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hoge armchair, designed in 1919, our model of 1963, which sold at auction in February 2021 for EUR 214,200.00.
