Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gerrit Rietveld achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2015. In the Modern Art auction, the work A Pair Of Zig-Zag Elm Chairs sold for EUR 27,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Rietveld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hoge armchair, designed in 1919, our model of 1963 in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 214,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerrit Rietveld erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit A Pair Of Zig-Zag Elm Chairs für EUR 27.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Rietveld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hoge armchair, designed in 1919, our model of 1963 im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 214.200,00.
