Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Fries Landschap) (Frisian Landscape) by Gerrit Benner. The price achieved of EUR 28,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerrit Benner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zomers Landschap, which sold at auction in December 2007 for EUR 72,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Fries Landschap) (Frisian Landscape) von Gerrit Benner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 28.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Benner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Zomers Landschap beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für EUR 72.250,00 versteigert wurde.
