Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Auction, which included the work Haarlem, a view from the Spaarne river looking towards the cathedral of St Bavo, with the Damstraat and the Waag by Gerrit Berckheyde. The price achieved of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 451,399.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Berckheyde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Haarlem, a view from the Spaarne river looking towards the cathedral of St Bavo, with the Damstraat and the Waag von Gerrit Berckheyde zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 378.000,00 (€ 451.399,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
