Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Grote Markt, Haarlem, looking south-east, with Saint Bavo's church and the Vleeshal by Gerrit Berckheyde was sold in the Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam auction at Christies in New York in October this year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 56,700.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Berckheyde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Grote Markt, Haarlem, looking south-east, with Saint Bavo's church and the Vleeshal von Gerrit Berckheyde wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 56.700,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
