Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Hague, A View Of The Plaats And The Buitenhof, With An Elegant Hawking Party by Gerrit Berckheyde was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 298,000.00 (€ 334,123.53). Admittedly, works by Gerrit Berckheyde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Hague, A View Of The Plaats And The Buitenhof, With An Elegant Hawking Party von Gerrit Berckheyde im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 298.000,00 (€ 334.123,53) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
