It achieved a price of GBP 680,500.00 (€ 798,027.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerrit Berckheyde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).

Die Arbeit The Oudezijds Heerenlogement, on the confluence of the Grimburgwal and the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam von Gerrit Berckheyde kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 680.500,00 (€ 798.027,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11) versteigert wurde.
