It achieved a price of USD 352,800.00 (€ 336,994.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Berckheyde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).

Die Arbeit The Courtyard Of The Binnenhof With The Ridderzaal, The Hague von Gerrit Berckheyde wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 336.994,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
