Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Amsterdam, A View Of The Dam Square In The Late Afternoon Looking North, With The Town Hall On The Left, The Nieuwe Kerk Beyond It, And The Waag To The Right by Gerrit Berckheyde was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The price achieved of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 426,954.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Berckheyde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).

Die Arbeit Amsterdam, A View Of The Dam Square In The Late Afternoon Looking North, With The Town Hall On The Left, The Nieuwe Kerk Beyond It, And The Waag To The Right von Gerrit Berckheyde wurde im Juli 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 426.954,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden.
