Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Jimi Hendrix, Smoking by Gered Mankowitz. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,566.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gered Mankowitz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jimi Hendrix, Smoking - 1967 in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 67,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jimi Hendrix, Smoking von Gered Mankowitz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.566,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gered Mankowitz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jimi Hendrix, Smoking - 1967 im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 67.600,00.
