Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work A still life with mussels, lemons and pickled herring by Gerard Röling. The price achieved of EUR 3,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Gerard Röling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plums in a dish in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 17,925.00.
