Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2000 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction California, Western and American Paintings, which included the work In the Shadow of the Canyon by Gerard Curtis Delano. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,625.00 (€ 18,894.73), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Curtis Delano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Los Angeles die Auktion California, Western and American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the Shadow of the Canyon von Gerard Curtis Delano zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.625,00 (€ 18.894,73) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard Curtis Delano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 471.000,00 (€ 403.598,97).
