In November 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Nearer Nebraska by Ger van Elk. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,750.00 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ger van Elk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 20,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nearer Nebraska von Ger van Elk zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.750,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ger van Elk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2011 für EUR 20.000,00 versteigert wurde.
