Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L'Homme À Femmes by Georges Seurat was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. The price achieved of USD 322,800.00 (€ 270,170.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Seurat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) in November last year with an auction result of USD 149,240,000.00 (€ 144,570,376.83).
