Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Arbre et route by Georges Seurat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 756,000.00 (€ 693,069.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Seurat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) in November last year with an auction result of USD 149,240,000.00 (€ 144,570,376.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Works on Paper Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arbre et route von Georges Seurat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 693.069,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Seurat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.240.000,00 (€ 144.570.376,83).
