Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work La Source, d'après Ingres by Georges Seurat was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in February 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,628.80), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Seurat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) in November last year with an auction result of USD 149,240,000.00 (€ 144,570,376.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit La Source, d'après Ingres von Georges Seurat wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.628,80) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Seurat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.240.000,00 (€ 144.570.376,83).
