Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Paradise Point by George Wesley Bellows for USD 189,000.00 (€ 176,125.24). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wesley Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Swell in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,893,000.00 (€ 5,728,282.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Paradise Point von George Wesley Bellows für USD 189.000,00 (€ 176.125,24) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Wesley Bellows erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Swell im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.893.000,00 (€ 5.728.282,17).
