However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Smith of Chichester - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter landscape with a haystack, cottages and figures, a river beyond; and A winter landscape with two figures crossing a wooden bridge, a village and a church beyond, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,941.03).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.533,39) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%.
