Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The hop pickers by George Smith of Chichester was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,627.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Smith of Chichester have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape with a haystack, cottages and figures, a river beyond; and A winter landscape with two figures crossing a wooden bridge, a village and a church beyond in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,941.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The hop pickers von George Smith of Chichester wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.627,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
