Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A wooded landscape with fishermen and shepherds by a pond, a ruined castle beyond by George Smith of Chichester was sold in the Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey auction at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,592.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate.
