Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Smith of Chichester could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A Classical Landscape changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,112.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Smith of Chichester have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape with a haystack, cottages and figures, a river beyond; and A winter landscape with two figures crossing a wooden bridge, a village and a church beyond in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,941.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Smith of Chichester konnte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters wechselte die Arbeit A Classical Landscape für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.112,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Smith of Chichester auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A winter landscape with a haystack, cottages and figures, a river beyond; and A winter landscape with two figures crossing a wooden bridge, a village and a church beyond im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.941,03).
