The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,880.00 (€ 42,420.48), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Segal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dancers in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 751,466.28).

Die Arbeit Still Life with Fragmented Violin von George Segal wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 42.420,48) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Segal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dancers im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.025.000,00 (€ 751.466,28).
