Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spatial Perspectives by George Lovett Kingsland Morris was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,377.50 (€ 4,632.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Lovett Kingsland Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intrusion in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,910.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Spatial Perspectives von George Lovett Kingsland Morris im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.377,50 (€ 4.632,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Lovett Kingsland Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Intrusion im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.910,78).
