Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Marine Scape by George Herbert McCord for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,254.72). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Herbert McCord achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Along the Lakeshore at Dusk in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,155.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Marine Scape von George Herbert McCord für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.254,72) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Herbert McCord erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Along the Lakeshore at Dusk im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.155,96).
