Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work Boats of Venice by George Herbert McCord. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,478.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Herbert McCord have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Along the Lakeshore at Dusk in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,155.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boats of Venice von George Herbert McCord zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.478,35) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Herbert McCord auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Along the Lakeshore at Dusk im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.155,96).
