Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Harbor by George Herbert McCord was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2005. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,600.00 (€ 5,473.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Herbert McCord - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Along the Lakeshore at Dusk, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,155.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Harbor von George Herbert McCord wurde im September 2005 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.600,00 (€ 5.473,54) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Herbert McCord mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Along the Lakeshore at Dusk beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.155,96) versteigert wurde.
